I took this photo because I had a camera and a pretty dreamcatcher. It didn’t occur to me right away that it would be perfect for this project.
A friend made this dreamcatcher for me when I was going through a rough patch in life – I was having constant nightmares. It’s outer beading colors are based on Native American something or others that are supposed to keep bad dreams away, I think.
Either way, when you see a dreamcatcher, you think of dreams. And that’s what this image shows, that I’m a dreamer.
One of my favorite things about this photo is the way the lighting plays on the dreamcatcher, and the shadows it casts. The light was coming from a weird upper angle, I think I moved my lamp or something, and the twists and turns of the dreamcatcher cast this neat curved shadow on the white wall behind it.
